Rhys Millen Racing Midengine V8 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Engine-bay.jpg Throttle-body-detail-717.jpgThe RMR crew pulled it off. Rhys Millen told us on the show floor that he drove this midengine Tau-V8-powered Genesis Coupe into the trailer. If you've been following our coverage of this car (here and here) you know that, like most SEMA cars, this one was cutting it close.

Unveil-717.jpgMillen acknowledges that there's still plenty of tuning to be done before this one-off machine is ready for prime time (and by prime time we mean our test track), but the fact that it runs is an accomplishment.

RMR is estimating 500 horsepower from the V8 which has 11:1 JE pistons, individual throttle bodies, custom intake runners and is controlled by a new Advanced Engine Management ECU capable of managing the variable cam timing on intake and exhaust cams. Power hits the ground via a five-speed Mendeola sequential gearbox.

Twenty-inch, two-piece HRE 560 wheels are debuting on the car. Toyo T1R tires are sized 255/35R20 up front and 285/30R20 out back.
Interior-717.jpgMillen developed a carbon-fiber trim kit for the interior of the Genesis Coupe, which is debuting on this car as well. Each piece in the kit is based around the car's stock interior bits so all the fasteners are in place to make replacement of the stock parts easy and complete.

Look for a complete test of this car as soon as Millen lets it out of the shop.
